Honouring a Legacy: Defib’s Helping Hearts Fund

Following the sad passing of Defib, the beloved station cat at Walthamstow, the staff who cared for him for many years have asked for a meaningful way to honour his memory.

While Defib was a constant source of comfort for our crews, the team wanted his legacy to extend even further. In his honour, we are raising funds through the London Ambulance Charity to support the London Heart Starters Campaign. This initiative aims to increase the number of public-access defibrillators across the capital and provide life-saving training to the community. Each public-access defibrillator costs £1,600 to purchase and install.

The Walthamstow team were incredibly dedicated to Defib’s care, and they felt there was no more fitting tribute to his name than providing the equipment and skills that save lives every day. By supporting this fund, you are helping us turn the loss of a dear friend into a lasting gift for Londoners.

All donations will go directly towards the London Heart Starters project, ensuring that Defib’s name continues to be associated with care and protection for years to come.
