The London Ambulance Service's Wellbeing Café at the Waterloo HQ was honoured to host the filming of Starbucks and NHS Charities Together’s fifth year of their ‘Festive Giveaway’ on Thursday, 5th December. Filming included the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Choir who beautifully sang Christmas carols and welcomed staff with festive cheer as they entered London Ambulance Service’s Headquarters.

As part of this partnership, Starbucks generously donated an incredible £11,600 worth of Starbucks products, including double espresso cans, latte sachets in three exciting flavours: cinnamon, caramel and toffee nut, sandwiches and baked goods, all to say a small thank you to NHS staff for their hard work ahead of the festive period. This donation was received by call handlers and LAS staff at our four wellbeing centres located at Waterloo, Dockside, Croydon and Barking, spreading the joy across the capital!

The HQ Wellbeing Café was buzzing all morning, with staff pleasantly surprised by all the Starbucks goodies that had so kindly been donated. Countless call handlers and other members of staff stopped by the Café to grab themselves a hot beverage of choice and snacks for an energy boost whilst enjoying the festive fun. Several call handlers confirmed that the coffee beverages would give them an energy lift to answer the calls of Londoners.

As part of Starbucks' NHS Giveaway Day, NHS staff could also receive a free Tall beverage of their choice at participating Starbucks stores. With the festive period being one of the busiest times of the year for paramedics, wellbeing initiatives and generous donations like this go such a long way in supporting staff when they need it most.

It was wonderful to see smiles on so many faces and the impact that such kind donations make to the wellbeing of NHS staff. A big thank you to Starbucks, NHS Charities Together and to the Charity and Wellbeing teams who all came together to make this day a great success.
