The Gym Group support LAS with Outrun an Ambulance challenge Several branches of The Gym Group are supporting London Ambulance Charity in the month of February by challenging staff and members to Outrun an Ambulance. Outrun an Ambulance is a virtual event that challenges competitors to fundraise and run, walk, row, or do anything self-propelled for 31 miles, conquering the average mileage an Ambulance covers in one 12-hour shift. Funds raised for the Charity will support wellbeing initiatives for LAS staff and volunteers and provide life-saving defibrillators and CPR/defibrillation training to priority areas across the capital. Gym Group staff and members are being encouraged to use their regular workouts or sign up to Hyrox classes to complete the challenge. Those who complete the challenge and raise £100 for the Charity will receive a completion certificate and sustainable Outrun an Ambulance medal. The Gym Group locations that have signed up include East Ham High Street, Manor House, Monument, Plaistow, Tooting, Vauxhall, Wathamstow, Walworth Road and Catford & Sydenham. These partnerships are a result of a national partnership between The Gym Group and NHS Charities Together. If you are near one of these locations, and you're ready for a New Year challenge or new ways to keep fit, enquire within and see how you can get involved! However, you don't have to be a member of The Gym Group to take part - anyone can do it! All we ask is that you do anything self-propelled for 31 miles within three months and fundraise £100 for the Charity to get your medal. If you don’t want to run, you can swim, cycle, scooter, hand-cycle or ride anything that is self propelled. We wish all participants all the best with the challenge!
